Hello and welcome to all who happened to find this site! Enormous thanks to Vlad who has been handling all involving this group for many many many months. A fantastic job and one I certainly won't be as good at keeping up with. Can't thank you enough, Vlad! jane is currently sort of keeping track of things :) This site is for all things from the Ziegfeld decades, other photographers, music, other Broadway shows of the times, your own personal contributions (ex: asilverrose, a fabulous costumer, has made Ziegfeld-inspired costumes, boogoo has done some ACJ colorations, etc) How to become a Member:Membership is by invitation. 1. Message an admin or co-admin and provide the following information or your request will be ignored: a. Your age. b. Your interest in what is being posted here. c. Something about yourself. Members! Please read and comply with the following:1. Posts containing nudity MUST be marked FOR MEMBERS ONLY before you publish them!!! Multiply does not allow such openly and zaps sites without warning if such is posted for public viewing. When posting an album, choose "For Everyone" or "Members Only" at the bottom of your Publish window. Anyone not complying will be removed from Member status.2. For photo albums: Please DO add the date at the beginning of your subject line and your name at the end of it. After 30 days or so, edit subject to remove the date and move the album to wherever it best belongs in the albums order. To do this: Click Photos link at top of page, then choose "Rearrange Photos." 3. Please DO NOT add tags to your posts as many tags slow down Multiply sites. DO add info in the text header of your albums, music, videos, etc such as who is shown in the album and whatever other info you can share about what you've posted so that these will show up in Search Engines. 4. Please DO add links to your sites in the Links section and tell us what is there and a bit about your interests :) 5. Please DO post a Blog entry if you are looking for someone, have info to share or are looking for info, want to start a topic you're interested in, and so on. 6. If you need help, have questions, or need to have a post released, please message one of the Admins and ask them nicely to do it. If you need my (jane's) help, please PM me and give me a week or two to get back to you. Enjoy the Group! There are amazing Members here!!!! | Photos | Jan 20, 2012 |

Can't post the question as an album yet. Spoke with ka59 about his listing of one of them as Margaret Horan and got a response. Surely not Margaret or Virginia... perhaps Madelon La Varre? http://ziegfeldgrrl.multiply.com/journal/item/475... more | Music | Dec 20, 2010 |

 | Dear Ballboy: I have just turned 60 as well. 1951/52 was a very fine year for ocular sensitivity. Is the museum you envision a physical place or a virtual display such as this community? What is the temporal span of your collecting? Do you restrict yourself to American photographers, or are you international in scope? Do you have a format preference? Profdash [David S. Shields, University of S. Carolina] |
 | I will be 60 on my next birthday, and have always loved (in fact, preferred) the vintage beauty and elegance of the bygone age. I am in the process of developing a museum of same, and would very much appreciate being able to access this site for research (and to promote you). I have 1000s of vintage nudes, and am always on the lookout for more. I am a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Johns Hopkins University and retired govt. speech writer and consultant--married to the same woman for 35 wonderful years. Thanks for your consideration and keep up the great work in saving these treasures for posterity. Baliboy@aol.com |

I'm wondering if anyone can provide images of A.C. Johnston's images of Helen Twelvetrees. I've seen the one from LiveAuction, but would like the others I've seen in the past. Can anyone guide me in the direction of where they originated? many thanks- ja

smuac wrote on Feb 25, '11 Excuse me...does anybody know how can I say a message to some human person in Multiply's support? I want to say them to stop sending invitations to some people in my e-agenda, but I do not know how to contact with a person in Multiply's support. It is VERY important... Thank you very much!!! |
 | there's a legend in my family about a great aunt of mine who ran off to join the follies. I've yet to find any evidence of this, but I'd love to know if there's any mention of a Helen Nevelus anywhere. It might just be a story, but I'd love to be the one who verifies or disproves it! |
 | Hi, I am looking for pictures of my grandmother, Margaret Fitzgerald. She was a model and Flora Dora girl in the late 1920's. She attended Julliard in NYC and then on to the Follies. I am not sure of her start date, or when she left, but it was before she was married around 1925. I see her noted in only one place (as a member of the cast in 'Jim Jam Jems' (1920), but no picture. I have been perusing through the site but haven't come across any pictures of her yet. Have you a Flora Dora section? I am so excited to have found you all -- Thank you!!! |
 | I am trying to find out who the girl is in the photo of "unnamed" follies is. She is the one with the scarf on her head and a long blond pony tail. I know a guy that is looking for his grandmothers sister. The same photo was in their home, and her name was Dee Dee..was there a girl named DeeDee that was a leading lady with Will Rodgers? |
 | I would like to know more about the bio of Miss Jean Ackerman. I have never been able to find out about her career and life after she left Zigfield Follies. |
